1999年澳门除夕，刚从大学毕业的何以翔（邓加乐饰）急盼离开这座小城，去台湾追寻自我——美术教学的梦想。当年母亲(李乐之饰）曾因父亲（秦显伟饰）固守粤剧梦，而选择长期赴台打工养家，使他从小感觉被遗弃。但当他视为至亲的女友成美（邓嘉欣饰）告诉他，澳门才是她的家时，他无奈留下教美术。 以翔率真激情的教学方式，导致他差点失去工作，挫败的他发誓不再重复父母的错，他要赚足够的钱，为成美和孩子买房。他辞职去赌场做荷官，拼命工作直到成美离开，他才猛然觉醒——他越拼命保护家人，越是让家人更疏离。 究竟要走到何处，才有回家的路？
