左婴宁（张立昕 饰）一直希望能够成为一名主持人，为了实现梦想，她甘愿放弃了出国深造的大好机会，然而现实却并不如想象中的那样美好，在求职的道路上，左婴宁收获的只有失败和打击。一次偶然中，左婴宁结识了名为杨大川（韩鹏翼 饰）的摄像师，打打闹闹的日常里，两人之间的感情慢慢升温并最终走到了一起。 左婴宁的一次采访让她被经纪公司相中，经过了公司的重重包装和炒作，左婴宁终于如愿以偿一炮而红，然而当局者迷，作为局外人，杨大川对左婴宁的未来并不看好。事业上的分歧令这对恋人渐行渐远，最终分道扬镳。而之后，左婴宁才发现自己似乎真的落入了公司设置的陷阱之中，沦为赚钱工具。
