弗兰茨（瓦里诺·马斯坦德雷阿 Valerio Mastandrea 饰）是一名公交车司机，他生性好赌，认为生活中的一切都可作为赌注，只可惜运气一直不是太好。某日，一位名叫蕾拉（乔凡娜·梅索兹殴诺 Giovanna Mezzogiorno 饰）美丽女子出现在了弗兰茨的身边，弗兰茨觉得自己的好运要来了，可惜的是，他错了。 弗兰茨和蕾拉得到了一张关乎到当今政坛重要政客秘密的电脑芯片，这张神秘的芯片让弗兰茨成为了刺客追杀的对象，两人踏上了逃亡的旅途。尽管一路上有神秘的侦探马蒂拉（埃尼奥·凡塔斯蒂奇尼 Ennio Fantastichini 饰）出手相助，但还是有好几次，弗兰茨几乎徘徊在死亡的边缘，而马蒂拉的慷慨和善良背后，亦隐藏着不为人知的目的。
